Khare Lake Trekking is one of the most popular trails, which is newly discovered alternative trekking trail in Annapurna region. Located in between classic Annapurna Base Camp and Jomsom trekking trail, this trek takes you to beautiful and mix culture of Gurung and Magar village with exceptional mountain views over the many Himalayas including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Nilgiri from Khopra Ridge and Poon Hill. Beside the scenic views of different mountains, you will also experience the warm hospitality of the Gurung and Magar people along the way of Khare Lake.
This trek starts from the Capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu. From where we will take 6 hours drive to Pokhara. The official trek starts from Pokhara in the lower, more temperate region of forest hillsides and Gurung and Magar villages. As the trail goes higher through rhododendron forest the views of Annapurna South, Himchuli and Machhapuchhre are beyond your belief.
Our camp is right below Mt. Annapurna after reaching Khopra Ridge. After that we walk up to the sacred lake above Khare, offering a marvelous alpine experience. On the way back to Pokhara, we follow the trail of Tatopani, where we can enjoy the natural hot spring healing bathe and a drink and end our trek then drive back to Pokhara.
