Panch pokhari trek

Panch Pokhari trekking is non tourist trekking trail in Nepal. Panch pokhari (five lake) trekking offers beautiful Himalayan view including the Gauri shanker, Dorje Lakpa, Langtang Himalaya range, Jugal Himalayan range, Rolwaling Himalayan range, Tibetan Himalayan range etc and pristine nature with distinct culture . Panch pokhari mean 5 holy ponds.Since panch pokhari trekking trail has been open we emphasis to operate the trekking in this area as it less crowded /non tourist trekking trail in Nepal. Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu (1400 m)

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu international airport, our representative will meet and welcome you to Nepal and then you will be transferred to your confirmed hotel. Once you finish the check-in procedure, you can rest and relax at the hotel. In the evening detail briefing of the trek. Overnight in hotel.

Day 2
Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour

We will take you for a historical and heritage tour of Kathmandu valley today after breakfast. A full day sightseeing today in Kathmandu takes you to the amazing heritage sites.

Boudhanath: It is considered as the biggest Buddhist Stupa in the world which lies in the middle of a beautiful square. The giant Buddhist shrine is a very important pilgrimage site for Tibetan Buddhist people. The stupa is considered to have been built in the 4th/5th centuries and carries some interesting stories behind its establishment. A stupa is basically a relic monument considered as a sacred shrine in Buddhism but there are several other types of stupas other than relic stupas. A stupa symbolizes the journey of a human being from the material world to the world of enlightenment.

Pashupatinath: It is a Hindu Temple area where you can see a very unique cremation culture for the Hindu dead people. The temple which is considered as the most important Shiva temple in Nepal is open for Hindus. We can encounter some Sadhus, the holy men, around who look so fascinating for photographs. The place is a rich spiritual and cultural source to have an insight into Nepali life and rituals.

Explore Kathmandu Darbar squire famous for its historical, cultural and religious traditions. The most unique experience in the square is the visit to the temple of a living goddess “Kumari”. Durbar square walking tour will be a perfect mixture of culture, history, art, architecture and traditional values prevalent in Kathmandu valley.Overnight in Hotel.

Day 3
Kathmandu to Chautara (1450 m)

Driving Duration: 5 Hrs.

We drive in the morning for five hours through the Araniko Highway to the district headquarter of the Sindhupalchok district- Chautara. Our trek begins from here, but today we stay overnight here. From the campsite, the views of the lush forest and terraced hillslope can be explored. Overnight at the tented camp.

Day 4
Chautara to Sano Okhareni (1965 m):

Hiking Duration: 5-6 Hrs.

Now, the trek begins a steady walk. The trail is interesting as it covers the ethnic valleys and the mixed settlements. It is a perfect example of how people of different caste and background are living harmoniously in the hilly region. With an easy ascending, we cross small streams and the terraced farmlands and we reach our campsite at Sano Okharni, near a pine forest. Overnight at the tented camp.

Day 5
Okhareni to Kami Kharka (2810 m)

Hiking Duration: 5-6 Hrs.

It is an hour continual uphill climbing from Sano Okhareni to Thulo Okhareni. Then the trail becomes steeper and we have to climb up for about four hours. The fascinating trail goes through the dense wood of the rhododendron and pine forest. The trail is popular for the views of the birds and some wild animals. Danphe, the national bird of Nepal is also found here. Then after a gentle walk, we reach to a summer pasture ground and we conclude our today’s walk. Overnight at the tented camp

Day 6
Kami Kharka to Pauwa Bas (3000 m)

Hiking Duration: 4-5 Hrs.

It is a steady walk today through flat land. The trek goes through the tranquil forest region. Mostly, the trail we walk today lies in the rhododendron woods along with the accompany of juniper, oak and pine forest. After a long walk, we can see some of the houses of the nomads for the migrating cattle herders. We reside around this land in Pauwa Bas. Overnight at the tented camp.

Day 7
Pauwa Bas to Hile Bhanjyang (3400 m)

Hiking Duration: 5-6 Hrs.

Through the steep uphill route, we continually ascend for about 3 hours, but with a gradual pace. Then, from the top of the hill, we start to descend through the steep downhill for about an hour and half hour. We can see the exciting mountain views from the trail and descend to our campsite at Hile Bhanjyang. Overnight local lodge.

Day 8
Hile Bhanjyang to Narsim Pati (3700m)

It is a pretty easy walk today. The beginning of the trail is the steep uphill section for an hour trip. After enjoying the surrounding green panoramas and hilly slopes, we start to climb down for three hours. The trail is dominated by the rhododendron forests and rocky hills. We set our camps near the holy-inn that is made for the people on the pilgrimage tour. Overnight at the tented camp.

Day 9
Narsim Pati to Panch Pokhari (4100 m)

It is a huge day of the trip. From Narsim, we gradually climb up through the rocky hills and reach to Panch Pokhari. It literally signifies five Lakes that are regarded as the holy lakes for shamans and Hindu people. The shamans and the devotees make a pilgrimage trip to this place during the full moon of August. They are dedicated to Lord Shiva and a fair is held at the Janai Purnima festival. Small huts are built for the pilgrimage devotees. We spend the rest of the time exploring around the Lakes.Overnight at the tented camp.

Day 10
Trek to Panch Pokhari top, trek to Tupi Danda (2320 m)

Hiking Duration: 6-7 Hrs

We start our foothill journey quite early today with the charming views of the mountains. From the top of the Panch Pokhari, we can see Mt. Dorje Lakpa, Jugal Himal Range, Rolwaling Range and Langtang Range soundly. Then we retrace to the campsite and pack up the things. Then we descend through the steep trail all the way through the rhododendron forest to Tupi Danda, which is our campsite today. Overnight at the tented camp.

Day 11
Tupi Danda to Dhap (1200 m)

Hiking Duration: 4-5 Hrs.

Today, the trekking goes through the steep downhill trail in the beginning and the second section goes through the easy trail. Crossing the beautiful terraced hillside and gorges, we reach to a tiny ethnic settlement of the Tamang people at Dhap. It is a wonderful opportunity to gain the insight of culture, traditions and architectural prosperity of the local people of the village.Overnight at the tented camps.

Day 12
Rest day and explore the culture

We spend the rest day by trolling around and cleaning ourselves. Visiting the local villages and cultural connection with the common lifestyles of the people. Overnight at the tented camps

Day 13
Dhap to Melamchi (800 m):

Hiking Duration: 5-6 Hrs.

Again, we are walking through the terraced fields and the riverbed of the Indrawati river. We cross the spectacular villages and also explore the hydroelectric project. We walk down to Tipini and adjoin the roadway. We arrive at the Melamchi Pul Bazaar at the bank of the Melamchi Khola. It is quite densely populated place with lodges and open marketplace. We spend today here.Overnight local lodge.

Day 14
Melamchi to Kathmandu

Driving Duration: 5-6 Hrs.

It is a scenic bus journey from Melamchi to Kathmandu. The glimmering views include streams, river, lush forests and the scattered hilly settlements. We are gradually leaving the wonderful mountain landscape and entering into the densely populated Kathmandu city. Then you transfer to the hotel and rest. Overnight at the hotel.
